How to layout a PC Board to SAVE on testing cost!

Rule #1
|

Make sure all your test pads are on the bottom side of the PCB.
|

Rule #2 |
|
All test pads should be at least 30 mils in diameter. |

Rule #3 |
|
All test pads should be at least 100 mils center to center ( apart from each other.) |
| |
Rule #4 |
|
All test pads should have at least 5-10 mils of exposed bare board around any test pads ( no solder mask ) |

|
For best testing results and longest lasting pins. Use only a blank ( flat no hole ) pad for a testing point. |

If you use a component pad for testing you probes pins will not last as long. |
